Prerequisite(s): HRM210 or equivalent


All managers face many pressing issues arising from relations between themselves and their employees. These issues influence the effectiveness of the manager.


Industrial Relations can be divided into two (2) categories:

(1) Employee Relations  - those which relate to the employee as an individual

(2) Labour                            - those which involve the employee as a member of an organized Trade Union.


This course is designed to provide participants with the tools for effective participation in the Industrial Relations of the company.

It includes such topics as:

  • Collective Bargaining
  • Arbitration
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Productivity Bargaining.
