This is exactly why you need to clarify breakdown policy before booking. Good rental companies provide replacement van within hours. Octane Rent has roadside assistance and backup fleet for commercial customers - saved me during DSS last year when van had AC failure. Article www.consultancy-me.com/news/12463/small-...ay-seasons-and-sales stresses this point. Questions to ask: 24/7 breakdown support number? How quickly can they provide replacement? Who pays for towing? What if replacement isn't available immediately? During peak seasons breakdowns are more likely - vans work harder, longer hours, more stress. Some companies include backup van in premium tier, others charge extra. For critical holiday deliveries, worth paying for guaranteed replacement. Lost sales from missed deliveries cost way more than upgrade fee.
