The BIMAP Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a broad based management programme incorporating both theoretical and practical application of business administration. Its structure encompasses twenty-three (23) courses, six (6) seminars, one (1) advanced project and one (1) thesis.

The three (3) specializations for this programme are:

  • Accounting & Finance
  • Human Resource Management
  • Marketing Management

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION

Five (5) CXC General passes Grades 1 and 2, Grade 3 from 1998 including English ‘A’ and Mathematics. Applicants without English or Mathematics will be required to pursue “Business Communications” or “Quantitative Managerial Decision-Making” respectively in Level 1 of the programme.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Application forms may be found here or may be collected from the office. The completed form (along with a non-refundable $50.00 BDS fee and copies of CXC’s or other courses pursued at other institutions should be submitted to our headquarters in Wildey, at least two (2) weeks before the start of the term.

START DATES

Students may join at the start of any one of the three (3) terms:

  • January to April
  • April to July
  • September to December

 

LENGTH OF THE PROGRAMME

This is a 5-year part time programme. In the event of extenuating circumstances, students will have a maximum of eight (8) years to complete.


REGULATIONS

Students are required to take a minimum of two (2) courses per term for completion of the programme within the given time period. An average of 55% (C) or more must be maintained throughout the course of study. Class sessions are held during the evening Monday to Thursday, and are usually scheduled for two (2) hours, twice weekly. these weekday classes may commence between 5:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Saturdays sessions are generally scheduled 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.


EXEMPTIONS
For a course to be considered for exemption, it must have been:

  • passed with a grade of “C” in the BIMAP grading system.
  • taken within five (5) years prior to the application.

Requests for exemptions must be made at the time of the application. In the case of non-BIMAP courses, a transcript is required to support the request.


EXEMPTION FEES

An exemption fee is payable for each exemption granted. The scale of fees is as follows:

  • BIMAP courses − $100.00
  • Other courses − $250.00
