This introductory course in Accounts is designed to give participants a thorough background in the basic accounting procedures used to operate a business.  The accounting procedures presented will also serve as preparation for more advanced accounting and business courses offered by the Institute and also provide a sound background for current and future employment.  

Participants will become acquainted with the principles of double entry bookkeeping including the preparation of financial statements for sole proprietorship, partnership and corporate businesses.

The objectives of this course are to:

  • Prepare students for jobs requiring a basic knowledge of accounting records.
  • Introduce participants to the basic concepts of Accounting.
  • Provide participants with the opportunity to build up a complete set of financial statements.
  • Acquaint participants with the various principles involved when accounting for all revenues and expenses.
